In 1917, my family acquired the land now known as Piper's Lagoon, intending to establish a farm. While the land proved challenging for farming, it became a well-loved part of the region's natural landscape-a symbol of resilience and adaptability.
That same spirit carried on through the years. Edward Cyril "Ted" Piper, a WWII veteran, built Piper's Transfer, a respected trucking and hauling company in Nanaimo. His commitment to reliability, toughness, and honest work set the foundation for what would become a long-standing family tradition in transportation and heavy-duty services.
